Description

These are called echo stones

This intriguing complex sculpture is prominently placed next to the north side of the Temple. The abstract carved stones are polished and gleam in the sunlight.

Nile thought this looked like a spa but Abby speculated that from one viewpoint the forms were an abstract representation of the mountains in the background.

There are several sculpted rocks at Machu Picchu that definitely mimic the mountains behind them. These are called echo stones.
