the SUMMER SOLSTICE

Summer Solstice Sunrise
SUNRISE --- click on image for larger size

AS THE SUN ROSE higher on the morning of the summer solstice in 1995, I duplicated my photographs made at exactly the same time one year earlier, as well as the year before.

AN ARROWPOINT, a shadow created by a nearby boulder, moved across the ancient petroglyph, the dominant spiral at Signal Hill, which is pecked on a rock that slants toward the celestial equator.

Summer Solstice

THE ARROWPOINT reaches the center of the spiral just
as the whole spiral becomes illuminated by sunlight.
