The VERNAL and AUTUMNAL EQUINOXES

Equinox arrow of light on solal symbol l

ARROWPOINT of LIGHT on SOLAR SYMBOL l
Morning of the vernal equinox - 1993, at Signal Hill

IN ADDITION to the solstices, the vernal and autumnal equinoxes also exhibit exciting lighting effects on certain petroglyphs at Signal Hill.

SHORTLY AFTER SUNRISE the lower right petroglyph shown above, which I call SOLAR SYMBOL l, is speared by a sharp point of sunlight.

A FEW MINUTES after this happens, the sunlight forms a similar pattern on the image I call SOLAR SYMBOL ll, as shown on the next page.

THE SYMBOL ABOVE and to the left in this photograph (with a dot in its center) is the symbol that I have designated FULL MOON SYMBOL l.

THIS FULL MOON SYMBOL is repeated within a group of drawings nearby which I theorize could be a LUNAR CALENDAR. You will see this group in the page after the next.
